To name a card that a person may draw from behind the back.

Spread the cards out behind the back in such a manner that when the card is drawn you can separate the deck at the point bringing the two parts in front of you and placing the upper half underneath.

In that way you know that the card the person has drawn should be the one following the bottom card, so that by glancing at the bottom card, adding three to it, and calling the suit that fop lows the bottom card, you will name the card drawn. (more…)

The following is a deck “stack” that must be set up ahead of time and maintained as you handle the deck. Among other things, by peeking at the bottom card, you can tell what the top card is. This allows you to perform many miracles!!

Start by dividing your deck into suits and into numerical order… Ace (top) to King (bottom).

The suits are set up: Clubs, Hearts, Spades, Diamonds (CHSD) or you may hear this referred to as “CHaSeD”

Leave the Clubs alone.

Hearts: Leaving the Ace, Two and Three in the same order, move them to the bottom of the Hearts pile. (more…)

Effect: A name is written on a piece of paper on a notepad by the spectator , the paper is torn off unseen by the magician, crumpled up and placed in an ashtray.

It is then set alight.

The ashes are then rubbed on the magicians arm and the name of the person written on the paper mysteriously appears.

Preparation:You will need a small notepad , pen , ashtray , lighter and a small piece of soap or wax.
